In the making of this work, the artist has taken the point of view of a naturalist that might be cataloging phenomena and labeling them with proper Latin terms. The items that have been collected, however, are actually memories. Imagine, if you will, the possibility of capturing a cherished moment of this fleeting life long enough to inspect and admire it. The invented ‘Latin’ titles are hints to what these glimpses of the human experience represent; ambiguity is intentional to permit the viewer to project personal memories into the experience.
