Anson Asaka is a Baltimore-based, self-taught, visual artist. He has had three solo art exhibitions including Hero: The Black Male Role Model at the Bearman Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland, the Black Queen in All of Her Splendor and Glory at Katsea Gallery in Towson, Maryland, and Revolution on Canvas: An Artistic Protest against Police Brutality at the Great Blacks in Wax Museum Mansion in Baltimore, Maryland. He has done commissioned paintings for FMC Corporation in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Howard County Public Library, East Columbia Branch in Columbia, Maryland and Corpus Christi Catholic Parish in Baltimore, Maryland. Artspace in Richmond, Virginia selected Mr. Asaka to participate in the JAZZ: February/March Juried Exhibition.

In addition to being a visual artist, Anson Asaka is a civil rights attorney. He is a Senior Associate General Counsel for the NAACP. Mr. Asaka graduated cum laude from Howard University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1992. In 1996, Anson graduated from Rutgers Law School.
