Art on the Board

With the LED Baltimore Art Billboard, we have taken a technology used solely for advertising purposes and created a one of a kind digital art gallery. This 52’ tall public gallery grants local artists a larger than life platform for their craft, while adding a dose of art to the lives of viewers.

Rotated in among the advertising are submitted images of every form of art imaginable – from painting, drawing, and illustration, to sculpture, poetry, and design. We welcome submissions from all local artists – student, amateur, and professional alike. After every few ads, we display a piece of art from a talented local artist.

In addition, every featured artist receives a profile on our website, showcasing their work. Each profile has links to the artist’s portfolio, contact info, and list of skills they can be hired for. This allows each artist to be contacted directly by interested art buyers, and because there is no commission fee, the artist keeps 100% of the sale price.

Besides being an incredible place to see or purchase art, it is also a dynamic and engaging talent pool for every industry in need of unique and creative individuals. Our goal is to bring art to the general public, to expose people that have never gone to a museum or gallery to the beautiful creations that exist. In doing this, we hope to entertain viewers and inspire everyone, especially our youth, to explore the creative talents that lie within themselves.

Even the back of the billboard is an art display. On what is usually a bare metal space on the back of the billboard, we have installed four 10’ x 20’ art frames. Each frame showcases a printed vinyl artwork created by a local artist or art student. The Baltimore LED Art Billboard is a true 360-degree art display. Like everything else about this project, we print and display this art at no cost to the artist.
