Jewel Branch
I am Jewel Branch, a 21 year-old black creative from Baltimore, Maryland. I spent the first half of my life growing up in Baltimore County and later moved to Baltimore City. I have been making art since I was a young child, very much captivated by the cathartic act of creating. Years later and my art has been my primary form of expression and what I can rely on to relieve stress. I draw inspiration from my peers and Baltimore’s creative scene, nature, astrology, spirituality, music, love, philosophy and everyday objects. I recently moved out on my own and am currently making art full-time – collaging, painting, drawing, and jewelry making. My prints feature images from old National Geographic and Time Magazines. I collage the images by hand, scan them, and then upload to make prints of them. I have prints for sale as well as original acrylic paintings on my portfolio.
