Jesse James explores the relationship between the universality of myth and minimalism. With influences as diverse as Frank Stella and Trent Reznor, new synergies are created from both constructed and discovered structures. Ever since I started painting I have been fascinated by the endless oscillation of the mind. What starts out as hope soon becomes debased into a tragedy of futility, leaving only a sense of unreality and the chance of a new order. As intermittent derivatives become distorted through frantic and diverse practice, the viewer is left with a hymn to the inaccuracies of our existence.
