Mike Riley
Mike Riley is a native of Baltimore who started making comics in 2010. He’s a regular contributor to Atomic Books’ Mutant Funnies. His work can also be seen through his frequent collaborations with area musician Height Keech. The Baltimore City Paper described a collection of Mike’s cartoons as “a little bit nuts” and “guffaw-worthy,” going on to say “you may find yourself laughing in spite of yourself.” Of Mike’s single panel cartoon blog, I Taste Sound, J. Aaron at Grizzly Bomb said “There’s just something about the lo-fi style art and mixture of clever and blunt humor and odd logic that makes us laugh, wows us, and genuinely evokes the feeling of being at an indie comics show.” Mike is ¼ Amish and his dad is a security guard at Disney World. Prior to making comics he obtained a degree in Art from Towson University and co-founded the award winning multi-use arts space in Baltimore’s Station North Arts & Entertainment District, the Hexagon.
