Paula Millet
I am a life-long artist and designer. My career and passion is museum exhibition design. My appreciation of art museums inspired me to create a Tarot deck that reinvented traditional artworks through a modern lens.
These digital collage images are illustrations for that very Tarot deck: Boadicea’s Tarot of Earthly Delights. I created the illustrations using elements selected from public domain fine art sources. My collages re-purpose historic artwork to depict classic Tarot iconography.
As is the case with historic images, some individuals would have originally been depicted in an exoticized manner. In my Tarot they are portrayed in reinterpreted roles of power and agency. I interpret Tarot as speaking to deeply shared truths and our universal human experiences.
