She got her MFA ay Mount Royal School of Art at Maryland Institute College of Art and BA of Information Design at Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University in China. Her art practice explores sex, gender, and politics through humor. She transforms ready-made objects, and plays with her body to make objects, performance videos and social intervention pieces. She had a solo show in School33 Art Center and got Vermont Studio Center residency fellowship in 2017.
“My work is my reaction to my surroundings. I encounter My Self in the World; I encounter the World in My Self. Daily-life metaphors, cultural parodies, political news, consumerism, and my childhood experiences in Japan have influenced me. My work provokes self-questioning as well public-questioning, for I have determined that sex, politics, and humor are the common language among human beings.”
